Janette McNeer Basile
Firefighter/Paramedic

Janette was born in Germany and raised in Northern Virginia, but her roots are here in Tucker County. She has vacationed in Tucker County since the late 1970s, but in 2002 decided to make Canaan Valley her home.

Janette earned her Outdoor Emergency Care (OEC) certification in 1990 through the National Ski Patrol system. This was a gateway to Emergency Services. She earned her EMT-B in 1996 and completed Firefighter Section 1 in 2003. Janette earned her EMT-P in 2008.

Janette enjoys downhill and cross country skiing, running, mountain biking, rock climbing, fishing and hiking. She also finds time to play her flute and is teaching herself mandolin.
